3-Alarm fire in Oak Park, 10-23-22

A 3-alarm fire broke out early Friday morning at 227 South Boulevard in Oak Park. Firefighters encountered flames coming from the second and third floors, which eventually spread into the cockloft and roof. The extreme cold, with temperatures well below -30 degrees Fahrenheit and strong winds, made it difficult to use standard firefighting tactics. Crews deployed three master streams and multiple hand lines to bring the fire under control.
