Experts suggest that lack of sleep can lead to brain damage

Are you a truck driver or a person who works in shifts and plan to make a good weekend? New research shows that duck-filled sleep will not compensate for injuries caused by overnight or overtime work. "The brain may have been damaged," said neuroscientist Sigrid Weiss of the University of Pennsylvania.

Like most people think, sleeping for a long time to compensate for the "sleep debt" owed before, but this sounds incredible. Weiss and her colleagues wanted to find out, so they simulated the life of the overnight person by changing the sleeping time of mice.
Then scientists look at their brains—more precisely, they are watching a bunch of nerve cells related to alertness and cognitive function. Soon they discovered that many cells had more or less damage. "The mouse lost 25% of its neurons," said Vis. Scientists believe that when mice lose sleep, nerve cells react and make more proteins, called sirtuin protein type 3, stimulate and protect them. But when insomnia becomes a habit, this reaction will close. After a few days of sleep "night shift," cells begin to accelerate their death.
