Early this afternoon, Long Grove firefighters were dispatched to a tractor-trailer rollover on the ramp from northbound I-53 to westbound Lake Cook Road. This location has been the scene of multiple truck accidents over the years. Alongside Long Grove units, Buffalo Grove Tower 25 also responded to the incident. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and required immediate extrication.
Once the driver was safely taken to the hospital, fire crews remained on standby while a towing and recovery company arrived to upright and remove the truck and trailer. The process involved several heavy-duty vehicles working together to stabilize and lift the wreckage off the road.
