New materials may make batteries more durable

According to reports, the researchers took a step study. The battery can store more energy than existing lithium-ion batteries 10 times. Scientists have been studying the material of "garnet ceramics", which is called LLZO. It can accelerate the release of lithium-air battery-based chemicals. Lithium-air batteries have been developed for several decades but are considered to be unstable practical applications. However, LLZO may make batteries safer and denser and more durable than lithium ions.
Traditional lithium-ion batteries have reached their limits, and the development of a new chemical battery needs further development. Lithium-air batteries are more practical for cars and power grids and less so on laptops and mobile devices because chemistry and density levels are more advantageous. LLZO effectively stabilizes the lithium-air battery, which is itself a proof-of-concept technology and is now closer to practical application. Researchers have not tested LLZO with actual batteries, but applied researchers can now publish research and work in the world.
The researchers pointed out that lithium-ion battery cathodes allow the movement of lithium ions between positive and negative electrolytes. During charging, lithium ions move from the cathode to the anode for storage. When discharge occurs in the reverse direction, lithium ions use the battery from the anode to the cathode and the device. Lithium-air batteries are different. They use a water-electrolyte lithium anode to provide greater energy density, but current materials are not stable and producing lithium-air batteries is more practical. But LLZO acts as a separator to make the battery stable, especially when discharging.
