This year's Energy Saving Week theme: energy saving and emission reduction, scientific development

The National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the State Environmental Protection Administration, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and the Communist Youth League Central Committee have jointly issued a notice and are scheduled to hold the 2007 national energy conservation awareness week from June 10 to June 16. The theme of this year's National Energy Conservation Awareness Week is "energy saving, emission reduction and scientific development."

The Publicity Week will combine with the actual situation of “a very serious situation in saving energy resources and protecting the ecological environment, and fulfilling the task of saving energy and reducing pollutants and reducing emissions” is very arduous. It focuses on promoting the extreme importance and urgency of energy conservation and consumption reduction, and promoting the Party. They have publicized national guidelines, policies, laws, regulations and standards concerning energy conservation, promoted typical experiences and advanced practical technologies for energy conservation, and commended advanced technologies emerging from energy conservation. Units and individuals have investigated and dealt with serious energy-wasting behaviors and formed powerful public opinion campaigns.

Scientific and technical departments at all levels must focus on key technologies in the fields of building energy conservation and industrial energy conservation, hold various exchanges and exhibitions of technological innovations, actively promote new energy-saving technologies, new products, and new achievements, and bring the latest energy-saving technologies to the market.

Environmental protection departments at all levels must actively promote the importance of energy-saving and emission reduction to improve the environment, and actively guide enterprises and institutions to increase energy-saving emission reduction and environmental protection investment, and introduce new technologies and new equipment to contribute to building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society.

SASACs at all levels must supervise state-owned large and medium-sized enterprises to play an exemplary role in realizing the national “Eleventh Five-Year” energy-saving goals, cooperate with media campaigns for the “Energy Conservation Campaign for Thousands of Enterprises,” and build energy-saving propaganda and education bases to organize and carry out energy-saving advances. Enterprises and individuals who strive for energy conservation and advanced personal activities, publicize energy saving plans and goals for enterprises, summarize, promote and publicize typical energy-saving experiences of enterprises, and contribute to achieving the goal of energy conservation of 20% in the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”.
