Working fire in Niles, 11-16-14

Last Sunday, we had a call at a townhouse complex. It was cold and snowy, and the fire appeared to be in the basement. By the time I arrived, most of the work was already done. I shot some photos of the new Niles engine, the North Maine refurbed Pierce, and the soon-to-be-replaced Niles quint.

It was a tough call, but the crews handled it well despite the weather. These photos give a good look at the equipment that was on scene. The new Niles engine looked sharp, and the refurbed Pierce definitely stood out. It’s always interesting to see how different departments handle similar situations. Hope the residents are okay and the damage wasn’t too bad.
