Evanston to host program for firefighters

From Division Chief Brian Scott, Evanston Fire & Life Safety

FDNY Firefighter and USMC Major Jason Brezler will be speaking at our event.

“Making Yourself Hard to Kill – Fostering a Culture of Survival and Discipline.”

February 2, 2015
0900hrs - 1700hrs
1818 Maple Street, Evanston, IL 60201

Just like in combat, the fireground demands that firefighters and officers perform effectively under pressure. This session challenges the common "culture of safety" myths and introduces a more realistic approach — the “culture of survival, discipline, and leadership.” This mindset is designed to save firefighter lives while ensuring the fire service can best protect the public. The presentation explores mental, physical, and technical aspects that have helped build a culture of survival on both the battlefield and the fireground.

The event will take place at:
  • Hilton Garden Inn, 1818 Maple Street, Evanston
  • February 2, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Registration cost: $80 before January 26, $100 after. This includes continental breakfast, refreshments, and snacks.
For any questions, please contact Division Chief Brian Scott at 847-866-5925.
