Fire service event at Arlington Park

We briefly mentioned an event taking place today at Arlington Park. Tyler Tobolt has shared some great photos with us, including images of the old FDNY Rescue 5 and Bellwood’s historic Grumman AerialCat. These vintage fire apparatuses are not only visually striking but also serve as a reminder of the rich history behind firefighting equipment.

Looking at these pictures, it's easy to imagine the days when these vehicles were actively used in emergency response. The Grumman AerialCat, known for its unique aerial ladder system, was a standout piece of equipment in its time. Meanwhile, FDNY Rescue 5 represents a key part of New York City's firefighting legacy, often seen in rescue operations and training exercises.
