At the Guangdong LED Industry Development Summit Forum held recently, the “Guangdong Province LED Industry Operation Monitoring Report for the 2nd Quarter of 2013†​​compiled by the Guangdong Semiconductor Lighting Industry Joint Innovation Center was officially released. The report shows that in the first half of 2013, the total output value of LED industry in Guangdong Province was 125.168 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.73. For the fourth consecutive year, the growth rate of LED output value exceeded 20. In addition, many indicators such as exports and patents were eye-catching.

According to the report, in the first half of 2013, the total output value of LED industry in Guangdong Province was 125.168 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.73. Among them, the added value of LED industry in the first quarter was 11.263 billion yuan, up 21.09 year-on-year; the added value of LED industry in the second quarter was 17.788 billion yuan, year-on-year. The growth rate was 32.30, and the growth rate of the chain was accelerated.
The export environment has been actively improved, and the export of LED products has exceeded 50 billion. According to the report, in the first half of 2013, the total import and export volume of Guangdong Province was US$554.41 billion, a year-on-year increase of 21.2. Among them, exports were US$316.38 billion, up 18.2% year-on-year; total imports were US$238.03 billion, up 25.5 year-on-year. The province's chief status, and the scale and growth rate of foreign trade imports and exports are ranked first in the coastal provinces and cities nationwide. Affected by this large environment, in the first half of 2013, Guangdong's LED industry's foreign trade export momentum was strong, and the cumulative value of the goods sold was 54.089 billion yuan. The core components of the LED industry all showed good growth.
LED patent applications exceed 40,000, accounting for a quarter of the country. According to the report, as of the end of June 2013, Guangdong Province had a total of 43,787 patent applications for LEDs, accounting for 26.29 of the total number of LED patent applications in the country, accounting for 3.90 of all patent applications in Guangdong. From the perspective of the structure of patent applications, as of 2013 At the end of the month, Guangdong LED lighting industry applied for 9684 invention patents, accounting for 22.12; utility model patents 24573, accounting for 56.12; design patents 9530, accounting for 21.76.
The province's bidding LED street lights and tunnel lights exceeded 270,000. According to the report, as of the end of June 2013, the total number of LED street lights and tunnel lights in Guangdong Province was 272,690, and there were 11 cities with a total number of tenders. The top three were Huizhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen. Among them, Huizhou bids 38,360 LED street lights and tunnel lights in the first half of the year, accounting for 14.07 of the total amount of tenders; Dongguan has sold 29,529 LED street lights and tunnel lights in the first half of the year, accounting for 10.83 of the total amount of tenders; Shenzhen LED lighting and tunnel lights 28482 in the first half of Shenzhen Oh, accounting for 10.44 of the total amount of the tender.
The market has steadily recovered and the market sentiment is expected to increase. According to the report, the LED industry prosperity index of Guangdong Province in the second quarter of 2013 was 125.2, which was significantly higher than the threshold of 100 booms. The industrial operation was in the boom zone, reflecting the good and optimistic state of the industry. Among them, the current industrial prosperity index reflecting the current state of the economy is 119.5, and the expected industrial prosperity index reflecting the future economic forecast is 129.0, which is higher than the critical point. From the perspective of corporate profitability, 79.3 companies said that their profitability in the second quarter was flat or better than that of the previous quarter; from the perspective of product sales, 84.6 companies said that product sales in the second quarter were flat or better than last quarter, while 82.9 companies expected the next quarter. Product sales were better than this quarter.
Yan Shirong, director of the Guangdong Semiconductor Lighting Industry Joint Innovation Center, said that in recent years, Guangdong LED industry has been able to achieve such rapid development, thanks to the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government to list the LED industry as a three important breakthroughs in the development of strategic emerging industries. In the first half of this year, under the background of the overall stable economic operation, stable structural adjustment, stable transformation and upgrading, the Guangdong LED industry also showed a stable and good development trend. With the further development of the LED industry, the overall development of LED industry in Guangdong will change from the explosive growth of the past to the stage of rational growth, and the quality of industrial development is expected to continue to improve.
