New home for South Elgin engine (more)

More about the new home for the South Elgin fire engine from Danny Nelms:

The engine, which once served the South Elgin Fire Department and had been in Pennsylvania for several years, was recently put up for sale. In response to the destruction caused by the tornado in Mayfield and Graves County, Kentucky, the Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company #2 made the generous decision to donate the unit to the Mayfield/Graves County Fire and Rescue Squad. Their firehouse was completely destroyed, along with multiple pieces of equipment.

The Seagrave engine was carefully loaded onto a flatbed trailer and set off for Kentucky late on the evening of December 16th. This act of kindness highlights the spirit of community and support that often emerges in times of crisis.

In light of the devastation from the tornado in Mayfield/Graves County Kentucky, Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company #2 decided to donate the rig to the Mayfield/Graves County Fire and Rescue Squad whose firehouse was destroyed along with several pieces of apparatus.

This kind of donation not only helps rebuild communities but also serves as a reminder of the strength and compassion that can be found in unexpected places. As the South Elgin engine makes its way to Kentucky, it carries more than just equipment—it carries hope, solidarity, and the spirit of service that defines first responders across the country.
