- A small airplane (size unknown) crashed into a house at Hampton Street and Bedford Street.

A pilot was killed when a small plane crashed into a home in a residential neighborhood in southwest Chicago around 11:15 a.m. Thursday, according to authorities. The crash occurred in the 1800 block of Hampton Court near Chestnut Hill Road and Bedford Drive in Plainfield.
The Joliet Police Department confirmed that no one was inside the house at the time of the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration has stated there were no injuries on the ground, though it remains unclear how many people were aboard the aircraft. However, Joliet's city manager confirmed that the pilot was killed in the incident.
Footage from the scene showed the house severely damaged on one side, with debris scattered across the street. Officials believe the fire was caused by fuel from the plane, but the investigation is still ongoing. Emergency crews are working to secure the area and assess the damage.
