Marine energy harvesting ship will come out

Researchers from Boston University and the Fraunhofer Center for Manufacturing Innovation have taken inspiration from the principles of sound motion and proposed the idea of using waves to produce clean energy.
They envision an energy harvesting fleet to convert wave energy into usable energy, and the fleet will eventually replace the sky-high transmission cable that currently connects offshore generator sets and land-based power grids. The fleet will use a 164-foot vessel with rotating "work arms" on the sides of the boat that touch the surface of the water. Each "arm" has a palm-shaped buoy at the bottom end that fits snugly against the surface. When the wave causes the buoy to float up and down, the working arm moves back and forth, and the generator connected to the working arm starts to generate electricity.
These generators can produce up to one megawatt (power) of electricity and will be stored in large on-board rechargeable batteries. Once fully charged, the vessel will return to land and transfer power to the terrestrial grid. Researchers hope that the rechargeable battery capacity on board will exceed 20 MWh.
