As air is compressed, it becomes heated. Then, as it travels through the discharge line to the air tank, it cools down, leading to condensation. This process results in the formation of water pools at the bottom of the truck’s air tanks. In addition, oil from the compressor and any contaminants that may have passed through the air filter can also end up in the air tank.
