Ford integrates production to increase efficiency China expects to produce 1.2 million vehicles a year


The United States Ford Motor will unify the production methods of its automotive plants around the world. Ford will use IT technology to increase the number of models a factory can manufacture up to seven models, thereby increasing the efficiency of investment and operations. The company will build 9 new plants in Asia and reinvigorate the loss of emerging economies. Among the major auto companies in the world, the move to adjust production methods with an annual output of 10 million vehicles is becoming increasingly clear.

This news has been confirmed by Fleming, Ford’s senior vice president of production. The new plant will be built in China, India, Thailand and other places, but the amount of investment has not yet been disclosed.

For car factories, assign models for each production line so that one production line can make as many cars as possible to reduce costs. In the future, Ford will change its thinking and adopt a hybrid production method that simultaneously produces 6 to 7 models. Although some companies have adopted hybrid production, the object of production is limited to a few models.

Ford will increase the number of exterior and partial performances of other derivatives by streamlining the basic structure of cars, including engines and chassis, and creating a variety of models on a single production line. With this mode of production, the operating rate of the factory is not easily affected by the market, and it is easy to respond to changes in the demand of emerging economies that have consumer preferences and income inequality.

In addition, Ford will also fully implement the pre-virtualization method for the factory's production line design, which will reduce the investment amount by 8% annually. Ford hopes to increase the existing factory's production capacity by 27% from 2011 through a series of production reforms.

The reason why Ford adopts new production methods is to increase the production efficiency of emerging economies in Asia. Ford hopes to double its annual production in China to 1.2 million vehicles and reach an annual output of 2.9 million vehicles throughout Asia. Ford has proposed a plan to increase global sales by 40% from 2011 to 8 million by 2015, of which more than 40% is expected to be produced in emerging economies.

Because they are flat on one side, their is no risk of pooling, unlike their concentric reducer counterparts.They are also well suited when one end is offset from the other in a vertical position. They are designed to be inserted inline and have a lower chance of producing agitation.
