In December 2011, China produced 5.068 million tons of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium chemical fertilizers for agriculture, an increase of 7.79% year-on-year. The data shows that from January to December 2011, the output of chemical fertilizers nationwide reached 60.27 million tons, an increase of 12.14% over the same period of last year. Among them, the output of nitrogen fertilizer was 4.8799 million tons, accounting for 69.34% of the total output; the output of phosphate fertilizer was 14.624 million tons, accounting for 24.26% of the total output; the output of potash fertilizer was 3.856 million tons, accounting for 6.40% of the total output.
From the perspective of the production of various provinces and cities, from January to December 2011, the output of chemical fertilizers in Hubei Province reached 10.18 million tons, an increase of 27.73% over the same period of last year, accounting for 16.89% of the country's total production. Followed by Shandong, Henan and Sichuan, accounting for 10.12%, 7.87% and 7.81% of the total production.
