At 1:47 AM, the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire District responded to a reported structure fire on the 300 block of Goshawk Lane in unincorporated Deerfield. As crews were en route, the RED Center alerted them that police officers had already arrived on scene and confirmed the building was fully involved. Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story, multi-unit townhome complex with heavy fire coming from the roof. They immediately deployed a hose line for fire suppression and began confirming that all residents had safely evacuated. Fortunately, the fire remained contained to the unit of origin.The adjacent buildings were inspected for potential fire spread, and only minor damage was found. A Mutual Aid Box alarm was triggered to bring in additional personnel and fire investigators. The cause of the fire and the estimated financial loss are still under investigation.The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods FPD received assistance from firefighters across several neighboring communities, including Deerfield, Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, Wheeling, Northbrook, Arlington Heights, Prospect Heights, Highland Park, Countryside, Glencoe, and Northfield. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the RED Center also supported the response efforts.
