I just witnessed something incredible happen here in Glenview. Around midday today, a massive storm rolled through, and lightning struck a house on 4177 Midway Lane. It was one of those intense thunderstorms that seemed like it would never end. When I arrived at the scene shortly after, there was already heavy smoke billowing out, and things looked pretty serious. That's when the emergency response escalated, and Glenview called for backup from neighboring towns—Morton Grove, Niles, Northfield, and Wilmette all sent their teams over to help. What struck me was how quickly everyone jumped into action. The Morton Grove Quint 4 unit was actually out on another call when this happened. Instead of heading back to base and then rushing to the new scene, they were immediately rerouted straight to Midway Lane. Their ambulance team also showed up, adding more personnel to ensure they had enough hands on deck. These guys really know what they’re doing.
