The second-line construction plan for West-East Gas Pipeline was basically finalized with a length of 8794 kilometers.

The reporter learned from the 2008 China LNG International Conference held on January 16th that the construction plan for the Second West-East Gas Pipeline was basically finalized, and the total project investment is expected to be 143.49 billion yuan (excluding customs duties and value-added tax). 1 trunk line, 8 branch lines, with a total length of 8794 kilometers.
According to the introduction of Hou Chuangxin, deputy general manager of Natural Gas and Pipeline Branch of China National Petroleum Corporation, according to the plan, the trunk line of the Second West-East Gas Pipeline entered the border from the Horgos Port in Xinjiang, followed by Dushanzi, Urumqi, and the east of Tajikistan and West East. The transmission lines coincide, then eastward through Jiuquan, Shandan, and Wuwei, separated from the West-East Gas Pipeline after the Yellow River in Ningxia Zhongwei, and passed southeast via Xi’an, Nanchang, and Cangzhou to Guangzhou. The main line is 4,945 kilometers in length.
Branch lines include Xinjiang Lunnan-Turpan, Ningxia Zhongwei-Shaanxi Jingbian, Henan Luoyang-Jiangsu Xuzhou, Jiangxi Nanchang-Shanghai, Jiangxi Yushu-Hunan Xiangtan, Guangdong Wengyuan-Shenzhen, Guangdong-Guangzhou-Nanning, Guangdong Zhaoqing-Zhanjiang. The total length of the branch line is 3849 kilometers.
Hou Ventures said that according to the plan, the second West-East Gas Pipeline began gas transmission in 2010, and the volume of gas transmission in 2012 was 30 billion cubic meters.
Hou Chuangye also said that in order to ensure the safety of gas supply to the Second West-East Gas Pipeline, relevant parties have conducted resource demonstration and exploration and development plans for the Tarim and Changqing gas regions along the domestic pipelines. Through the demonstration, the Tarim and Changqing Gas Fields have the resource base for additional storage and production. In 2015, besides guaranteeing the supply of gas to the Shanjing Line, each year it can provide more than 10 billion cubic meters of emergency security gas to the West-East Gas Pipeline.
