Working fire in Chicago, 3-15-21

This is what I received from Matthew Sosnowski: --- Still alarm and working fire response reported at 209 East 78th Street, Floor #2, with a dateline from the City of Chicago on March 15, 2021. The address is between South Indiana Avenue and South Prairie Avenue. The initial still alarm was triggered at 00:02 hours by the Englewood Fire Alarm Office (E.F.A.O.). Upon Engine 122 arriving on the scene and reporting visible smoke, the E.F.A.O. upgraded the response to a working fire at 00:12 hours. At this point, additional companies were dispatched to assist, including Engine Companies 122 and 47, Ladder Companies 20 and 30, along with Battalion Chief 19. As the situation developed, Squad 5 and 5A, additional ladder companies like Ladder 34, a field E.M.S. chief, and multiple ambulances were also sent to the location. Special call units such as S/C #1 arrived at 00:33 hours under the command of Battalion Chief 19. The overall response included various support units like the O.F.I. 467, indicating significant coordination between different emergency services. It was clear that the fire department was taking this incident very seriously given the rapid escalation of resources being mobilized. Attached are some images taken by Matthew Sosnowski, capturing the scene during the incident. This situation highlights the critical role played by first responders in managing emergencies effectively, especially in densely populated urban areas like Chicago. --- I hope this version captures the essence of the original message while providing a more fluid narrative.
