Working fire in Chicago, 4-18-18

Chicago firefighters were called to a fire at a building located at 18th and Kedzie (1817 S. Kedzie). The 14th Battalion arrived on scene with a 3-story vacant structure that was fully involved. Upon arrival, Engine 107 used its deck gun to attack the rear of the building, while Engine 109 took the front side A position. Shortly after, the 14th Battalion transitioned into a defensive operation. In total, multiple hand lines, Tower 5, Squad 1, and a couple of point advantages were deployed to bring the fire under control.

The incident highlights the quick response and coordination among Chicago Fire Department units. Firefighters worked efficiently under challenging conditions, using various tools and strategies to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further. The efforts of Engine 107, Engine 109, and other units demonstrate the professionalism and dedication of the firefighters in the city.
