Working fire in Chicago, 4-18-18

Chicago firefighters responded to a fire at a building located at 18th and Kedzie, specifically at 1817 S. Kedzie. The 14th Battalion arrived on scene with a three-story vacant structure that was fully involved. Upon arrival, Engine 107 used the deck gun to attack the rear of the building, while Engine 109 took the front side (Side A). Shortly after, the 14th Battalion transitioned into a defensive position as the fire continued to spread. Firefighters deployed multiple hand lines, along with Tower 5, Squad 1, and several point advantages to bring the fire under control.
