The engines used by most commercial vehicle manufacturers are generally relatively backward, and most of them do not have the space for technological improvement. It is very difficult to cross the national III threshold.

Of course, there are also a few companies that have made adequate preparations. As Jiangling and Qingling mentioned earlier, they have become big winners in this round of competition. According to industry analysts, products that fail to meet the standards of the State III are not sold in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. In a sense, they are equivalent to a “regulatory barrier” that has rejected many manufacturers. The root cause lies in the R&D weaknesses of light truck manufacturers.
