CFD mayday at Still & Box 2-1-13 (pt2)

I was called in for what I thought would be a small job on the 5700 block of Newark, just around the corner from Engine 119â€™s station. It turned out to be a mayday and a 2-11 alarm. A large bungalow under renovation had fire reported on multiple floors. The operation was really tough because it happened during an ice and snow storm. Taking photos was nearly impossible due to the heavy snow ruining flash shots, and the ambient light wasnâ€™t enough for a good shutter speed, so the images arenâ€™t anywhere near my usual quality.

At the time, I was safely across the street watching the routine operations when I heard some shouting about someone falling into the basement. The DDC declared a mayday, and there was a lot of commotion, but they got the injured person secured quickly. Later, I found out that the stairway from the first to second floor had collapsedâ€”probably due to the ongoing renovations. I saw two firefighters being carried out on boards with neck collars, and a few others who were walking wounded. All units were ordered out of the building, and a "par" was called. A regroup took place, and the incident was eventually resolved.

From where I was standing, I couldnâ€™t see much more than what was happening on the street. Maybe someone who was actually on scene can provide more details. The video is here:

Some photos are attached. I think everyone is okay. I'm curious how this mayday went with all the new radios and channels. This might have been the first emergency since the new radio system was put in place.
