China's first 2800kW planetary gear reducer has successfully passed the on-site evaluation organized by the China Coal Industry Association at the cement plant of Hebei Jinniu Energy Co., Ltd. This advanced gear system, developed jointly by the Shanghai Branch of the Coal Research Institute and the Suzhou Metallurgical Machinery Plant of Baosteel Group, marks a significant breakthrough in China's building materials and metallurgical industries.
As the largest planetary gear reducer currently in use within these sectors, it was installed in the main drive system of the No. 1 cement mill at Hebei Jinniu Energy Cement Factory in September 2004. Since then, it has operated continuously for over 7,500 hours without major issues. The equipment runs smoothly, with noise levels, vibration, and temperature rise all meeting the design specifications.
This successful application demonstrates the reliability and performance of domestically developed high-power transmission systems, highlighting China's growing capabilities in heavy industrial machinery. The achievement is expected to set a new benchmark for future projects in the industry.
