On May 24, Anhui Huaihua Group Refined Chemical Company officially completed and launched its carbon monoxide gas plant, marking a significant milestone in the company's production capabilities. For a long time, the company faced challenges in meeting the high demand for carbon monoxide gas in its DMF (Dimethyl Formamide) production process. The existing supply was insufficient, and the purity and purification methods were not up to standard, which limited the efficiency and output of the DMF production line.
To address these issues and unlock greater potential in DMF production, Huaihua Refined Chemical Company invested in advanced technology by implementing a carbon dioxide reduction system. This project is designed to enhance production efficiency on a larger scale and ensure a stable supply of high-quality carbon monoxide.
The new carbon monoxide gas project utilizes a patented technology developed by the National Coal Chemical Engineering Design Technology Center. This innovative "carbon dioxide and oxygen gasification of coke to produce high-purity carbon monoxide" process represents the latest advancements in domestic coal chemical technology. Once fully operational, the plant will be capable of producing 4,000 standard cubic meters of high-purity carbon monoxide per hour, effectively overcoming previous limitations in both purity and production capacity.
This development not only supports the expansion of DMF production but also enhances product profitability. Moreover, the high-purity carbon monoxide can serve as a valuable feedstock for the production of carbon-based chemicals such as formic acid, methyl formate, and dimethyl carbonate, offering a solid foundation for future growth in Huaihua’s chemical industry.
