Mercedes-Benz, the inventor of the car, also used hybrid power on the top-of-the-line S400 Hybrid. In the fall of 2008, I tested the Mercedes-Benz hybrid car in Stuttgart, Germany. V6 engine with motor work, power up to 299 horsepower, equipped with "stopping" technology, fuel consumption of 7.9 liters per hundred kilometers - this achievement makes the S400Hybrid become the world's top luxury cars in the fuel-saving champion. The highlight of the S400 Hybrid is the application of lithium batteries. Mercedes-Benz lithium batteries with high-strength steel shell package only two brick size, much smaller than Toyota's nickel-metal hydride battery pack, but nickel-metal hydride batteries are low cost, more secure, the pursuit of their own different.

Liu Weidong, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Group, told me a few days ago that it is evaluating the joint development of a new concept of air hybrid technology from French PSA Group. Compressed gas cylinders will replace batteries for energy recovery. This technology will be expected to be used in domestic Citroen and Peugeot products. Sample cars will be tested in the country during the year.
