The birth of the country's largest real casting with a gross weight of 41 tons

Hebei Botou Tianlida Machinery Casting Co., Ltd. has recently achieved a remarkable milestone by producing the largest solid casting in China, weighing an impressive 41 tons. This breakthrough surpasses the previous national record of 32.5 tons, which had stood for 31 years since it was set by Shanghai. The new achievement marks a significant advancement in China's real casting industry and highlights the growing capabilities of domestic foundries. Botou City in Hebei Province is well-known as the "Hometown of Foundry," both within China and internationally. With over 1,300 years of casting history, it is considered one of the cradles of China's modern foundry industry. The city is home to more than 700 foundries of various sizes, with an annual production capacity of over 10 million tons and annual sales exceeding 3 billion yuan. Tianlida Machinery Casting Co., Ltd., a private enterprise based in Botou, specializes in manufacturing large machine tool components, valve blanks, and instrument parts. Its products are widely distributed across the country. In October of this year, Tianlida signed a cooperation agreement with Guilin Grinder Packaging Machinery Factory to develop and produce large-scale grinding machine accessories. In November, the company began mass-producing the GM-KD5025 CNC gantry grinding machine. The bed of this machine, made using real casting technology, measures 11.2 meters in length, 2.27 meters in width, and 0.69 meters in height. It weighs 41 tons gross and 38.5 tons net, with HT300 alloy as the material. The guide plate has a Brinell hardness of over 180. From the creation of the foam model to the final processing and casting, all stages were completed in-house by Tianlida. According to Liang, Secretary General of the China Foundry Association, this casting broke the long-standing record of 32.5 tons set by Shanghai 31 years ago, marking a new era for China’s real casting industry. The success not only demonstrates Tianlida’s technical expertise but also reflects the broader progress and innovation happening in the Chinese foundry sector.
