The birth of the country's largest real casting with a gross weight of 41 tons

Hebei Botou Tianlida Machinery Casting Co., Ltd. recently made history by producing the largest solid casting in China, weighing an impressive 41 tons. This remarkable achievement surpasses the previous national record of 32.5 tons, which had stood for 31 years since it was set by a Shanghai-based company. The breakthrough marks a significant milestone in China's real casting industry, showcasing the country's growing technical capabilities and industrial strength. Botou City, located in Hebei Province, is globally recognized as the "Hometown of Foundry" with a casting tradition that dates back over 1,300 years. It is considered one of the cradles of China’s modern foundry industry. Today, the city is home to more than 700 large-scale casting enterprises, with an annual production capacity exceeding 1 million tons and total sales reaching 3 billion yuan annually. Among these companies, Tianlida Machinery Casting Co., Ltd. stands out as a private enterprise specializing in the production of large machine tool parts, valve blanks, and precision instrument components, with its products distributed nationwide. In October of this year, Tianlida signed a cooperation agreement with Guilin Grinder Packaging Machinery Factory to develop and manufacture large grinding machine accessories. In November, the company successfully produced the bed for the GM-KD5025 CNC gantry grinding machine using advanced real casting technology. The casting measures 11.2 meters in length, 2.27 meters in width, and 0.69 meters in height, with a gross weight of 41 tons and a net weight of 38.5 tons. Made from HT300 alloy, the casting features a Brinell hardness of over 180 on the guide plate. From foam modeling to processing and casting, the entire production process was handled in-house by Tianlida. According to Liang, Secretary General of the China Foundry Association, this 41-ton casting not only breaks the long-standing record but also represents a major advancement in China's real casting sector. The project highlights the company’s technical expertise and its growing role in shaping the future of China’s manufacturing industry.
