Fire in Chicago 2-flat 8-10-13

I responded to a fire around 1:30 PM on Saturday afternoon in Chicagoâ€™s 23rd Battalion. The fire was on the second floor of an empty 25x40 two-flat located on the 7200 block of South Constance. The companies involved were Engine 126 and Truck 49, Engine 72 and Tower Ladder 34, with Truck 16 and Battalion 17 serving as RIT. It was tough to get good rig shots due to the narrow streets and dense tree cover. The fire was brought under control fairly quickly, but the crews had a significant amount of overhaul work and remained on scene for over an hour. Interestingly, Engine 126 was using an old Engine 56 as a backup unit.
