At 8 o'clock on the evening of the 9th, all parts of Xianning began to rain heavily. The heavy rains caused mountain torrents and mud-rock flows. Among them, Tongcheng, Chongyang, and Chibi were severely damaged, and there were geological disasters such as floods, landslides, and mudslides.

At 3 o'clock on the 10th, the Xianning fire brigade received a disaster report and quickly mobilized 105 officers and men of the fire forces in Chongyang, Tongcheng, and Chibi to form nine rescue teams, and sent them to 16 disaster sites in three counties and cities for disaster relief at the same time. fighting.
