Taiwan's Machine Tool Import and Export Analysis from January to July 2010

1. Analysis of Machine Tool Exports in Taiwan According to customs statistics, the total export value of machine tools in Taiwan from January to July 2010 reached 1.5 billion 49.42 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 56.8%, and the export situation improved significantly. Among them, cutting machine tools were 1,119,080,000 US dollars, up 58.6% year-on-year; molding machine tool exports were 306.861 million US dollars, up 51.2% year-on-year.

(1) As for the export situation of various types of machine tools, if the analysis is based on the types of cutting machine tools, the comprehensive processing machine will increase by 78.2%, the lathes will increase by 22.2%, the grinders will increase by 88.3%, and the milling and boring machines will increase by 67.0%. In the part of forming machines, forging and punching machines increased by 48.0% compared with the previous year, and other forming machines increased by 63.4%.

(2) Exports of machine tools to countries and regions such as countries ranked according to export volume. From January to July 2010, China and Hong Kong ranked first, with an export value of 714.53 million US dollars, accounting for 48.2% of total exports, an increase of 104% over the same period of last year. . Among them, exports to the mainland market in July amounted to US$143.27 million, a year-on-year increase of 225%. The United States ranks second, amounting to 75.94 million US dollars, accounting for 4.9% of exports, a year-on-year decrease of 11.5%. India ranked third, amounting to US$63.87 million, accounting for 4.1%, and a year-on-year increase of 112%.

Yu Yixuan's growth was 65.0% in Thailand, 82.5% in Brazil, 107% in Malaysia, 190% in Turkey, 26% in South Korea, 116% in Indonesia, 47.8% in Vietnam, 42.4% in Germany, 9.4% in the Netherlands, Italy Declined by 6.4%, Japan decreased by 8.1%, and Australia increased by 40.4%.

2. Analysis of Machine Tool Imports in Taiwan According to customs import statistics, the import value of machine tools in Taiwan from January to July 2010 reached US$327.84 million, an increase of 77.1% year-on-year. Among them, the import value of cutting machine tools was US$269.03 million, an increase of 80.5% year-on-year; the import value of molding machine tools was US$58.8 million, a year-on-year increase of 62.9%.

(1) Imports of various types of machine tool products From January to July 2010, the main imported machine tools were non-traditional processing machine tools which increased by 150% year-on-year, the comprehensive processing machine increased by 66.3%, the lathes increased by 157%, the boring and milling machines increased by 65.0%, and the grinding machines decreased by 29.1. %. The import value of molding machine tools was 74.4% higher than that of the previous year for forging presses, while other types of machine tools increased by 8.0%. According to the above import data, traditional industries have maintained moderate growth in import demand in recent years, such as the precision component industry and the metal product processing industry. The emerging high-tech industries such as semiconductors, information, electronics, communications, and optoelectronics, etc. have experienced significant declines in 2008 and 2009, and this year they have grown substantially.

(2) Imports of machine tool imports from different countries The main source of imported machine tools in Taiwan is from January to July 2010. The first import value of Japan reached US$106.86 million, accounting for 60.5%, an increase of 154% year-on-year. Germany's second-place import amounted to 27,180,000 US dollars, accounting for 8.3%, a year-on-year decrease of 8.8%. China and Hong Kong ranked third in the import value of 20.49 million US dollars, accounting for 6.2%, an increase of 53.6% and so on.

3. Overview In general, the predictions for the major machine tool producing countries in the world rebounded in 2010, and orders from Germany, the United States, Japan, and other countries all increased significantly. From January to July 2010, the United States shipped 1.473 billion US dollars, an increase of 58.9% year-on-year. South Korea's orders from January to April increased by 97.5% year-on-year. From January to July, Japan's machine tool orders totaled 525 billion yen, an increase of 187% year-on-year, while Japan's January-July sales increased 15.5% year-on-year.

In the first half of 2010, the machine tool industry in Taiwan has rebounded sharply. At present, orders have been completed in the third quarter, and the industry is receiving orders for the fourth quarter. At the same time, the increase in the number of factories working overtime and the increase in the number of employees has shown that the industry is recovering sharply. The orders received are still in urgent orders and short orders. The manufacturers must have the ability to respond quickly and deliver goods.
