Engine made road

Navistar domestically produced engine project has already entered the preparations for the examination and approval. It will only be approved by relevant national authorities. Hefei, Anhui Province will build a Diesel Engine factory with an annual output of 250,000. These engines will be used on JAC trucks to explore the future of Navistar's vehicle products in China.

Troy Clarke, president of Navistar Group Asia Pacific, said in an interview that after the establishment of the engine joint venture company, it will first produce the domestic diesel engine of the Navistar Meissen brand, the first domestically produced 3.2L for the light The commercial vehicle engine will be followed by a 4.8-liter engine. After a period of operation, diesel engines for heavy trucks will also be made domestically.

According to reports, domestically produced Navistar engines will first be carried on JAC light trucks to fully enhance the performance of JAC trucks, and heavy trucks produced by JAC will also carry heavy-duty diesel engines produced by them.

The "Engine Joint Venture Project" agreement with Jianghuai was signed by the two parties in Beijing in September 2010. The two sides established a 50:50 joint venture company with a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan and registered capital of 600 million yuan. The ratio is 50:50. The preliminary plan for annual production is 180,000 light diesel engines and 70,000 medium and heavy diesel engines.

R & D center is in preparation

Not only is the engine project about to be ready, but the R&D team for the R&D of the entire vehicle is already under construction. According to an executive from Navistar China, the head of the R&D center has confirmed that he is a senior person who has worked for Navistar for nearly 30 years. The R&D center may be established in Shanghai.

In fact, Navistar's R & D center set up at this time is for the development of the engine's domestic operation, the development of a complete vehicle product suitable for the Chinese market, according to the real need to take a while.

It is understood that, unlike domestic market-for-technology joint ventures, Navistar Group will not simply introduce US products into China. Instead, it will introduce its advanced technology platform and production concept and Jianghuai through this R&D center. The car together develops new products specifically for the Chinese market. According to reports, Navistar intends to introduce the International platform technology first, and jointly use it with JAC to develop new products.

Personnel layout is basically completed

In 2011, Navistar conducted a series of personnel placements in China, and many key positions have been identified. He has worked at GM for 20 years and has served as a number of senior leadership positions, helping General Motors establish a number of businesses in China, including General Motors.
