China's largest oilfield sewage treatment project is currently under construction in the Karamay Oilfield. Once completed, this project will effectively address the long-standing issue of oil pollution that has affected Karamay for over four decades. The project will establish three world-class records in China's oil sector. First, it will have the highest daily sewage treatment capacity, reaching 35,000 cubic meters per day. Second, it will feature the largest single storage tank with a capacity of 9,000 cubic meters. Third, it will represent the largest single investment in the history of oilfield wastewater management, with a total investment of 110 million yuan.
This advanced facility is expected to not only improve the ecological environment in Karamay but also serve as a model for similar projects across the country. By implementing cutting-edge technology and efficient processes, the project aims to set new standards for wastewater treatment in the energy sector.
