·China CRRC completed the restructuring of truck business

China's CRRC's truck business was reorganized. On May 21, the inaugural meeting of CRRC Changjiang Transportation Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CRRC Cheung Kong Group”) was held in Wuhan. CRRC Changjiang Group is mainly based on the original CRRC Yangtze River Company, including CRRC Guiyang Company, Meishan Company, Taiyuan Company and Xi'an Company. The establishment of CRRC Changjiang Group marks the completion of the reorganization of the truck segment of China CRRC.

CRRC Changjiang Group is headquartered in Wuhan, Hubei, with a registered capital of 5 billion yuan and a total of 21,700 employees. It has 15 second-tier subsidiaries. CRRC Changjiang Group is a group enterprise with industrial products system supported by truck products as the core, cold chain transportation, modern logistics equipment and engineering machinery as the pillar, information technology, consulting services and construction steel structure.

It is understood that China's CRRC truck business has 10 original enterprises, and reorganized two companies based on the North-South car division - Zhongche Qiqi Group and CRRC Changjiang Group. Zhongqi Qiche Group was unveiled in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province on May 9th. It has five first-class subsidiaries: Zhongche Qiqi Company, CRRC Shenyang Company, CZ Shijiazhuang Company, CRRC Shandong Company and CRRC Ximeng Company. The company has a registered capital of 6.7 billion yuan and a total of 20,300 employees.

The establishment of CRRC Changjiang Group, the purpose of China CRRC is very clear, is to reduce production capacity and improve business performance. According to the data, the number of trucks purchased by China Railway Corporation has dropped from 40,000 in 2012 to 0.6 million in 2016. China's CRRC trucks have more than 80,000 new and repaired trucks.

After the reorganization, Beijing Erqi Vehicle Co., Ltd. will all withdraw from the new construction and repair business of the truck, transforming and upgrading to develop the service economy. Shijiazhuang Vehicle Co., Ltd. and Guiyang Vehicle Co., Ltd. will withdraw from the new business of trucks and continue to retain the repair business. The original repair market share of Beijing Erqi Vehicle Co., Ltd. was undertaken by the two companies. After adjustment, it can reduce the production capacity of 10,000 vehicles.

The reduced demand for trucks is accompanied by a decline in the performance of trucks. In 2013, China's CRRC truck segment accounted for 11.54% of total operating revenue. In 2014, the figure dropped directly to 6.21%, 4.77% in 2015 and 3.08% in 2016. Among them, Qiqihar Company and Changjiang Vehicle Company lost more than 300 million yuan in 2016. Affected by the truck business, China's CRRC net profit fell 4% for the first time in 2016. In 2017, China's CRRC revenue fell 8.14%, and the net profit fell to 4.35%.

In order to reverse the current predicament, CRRC decided to take the lead in implementing the truck business restructuring, but this is not the only attempt. China CRRC is undergoing diversified development.

China CRRC first looked at the new energy field. Recently, the first pure electric vehicle of China CRRC has undergone a road test, and photos have appeared on the Internet.

Not only that, China CRRC's CRRC Investment and Bronze Sword Technology signed a strategic investment agreement, which will accelerate the development of Bronze Sword Technology in the field of IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) drive. It is understood that IGBT is the core device of energy conversion and transmission. As a strategic emerging industry, it is widely used in rail transportation, smart grid, aerospace, electric vehicles and new energy equipment.

The industry believes that China CRRC has strong technical capabilities, and diversified development can play its own advantages. However, how to smoothly integrate the completed business and the business to be reorganized is the most important issue before us.
