Recently, BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine according to the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall and the Implementation Measures for the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall, and decided to recall it from April 2, 2018. Some of the Brilliance BMW 316i, 316 Li, 320i, 320Li, 328i, 328Li, and 335Li vehicles produced between September 1, 2015 and October 31, 2015, totaled 16,504 vehicles.
Vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to fuel tank supplier manufacturing reasons, after long-term use, the processing port cover on the upper part of the fuel tank may crack, resulting in fuel leakage when the vehicle is full of fuel, there is a safety hazard. BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. will replace fuel tanks for free within the scope of the recall to eliminate safety hazards.
As an emergency disposal plan, it is recommended that the user do not exceed 3/4 of the fuel gauge when filling the fuel, so as not to increase the damage caused by the fuel tank load. If the user smells the fuel or observes a fuel leak, he should contact an authorized BMW dealer for repair as soon as possible.
The recall was carried out under the circumstances of the AQSIQ initiated defect investigation. For some time, the AQSIQ Defective Product Management Center received complaints from consumers about this issue. After receiving the complaint, AQSIQ immediately deployed the Defective Product Management Center to conduct defect investigation and evaluation on the above issues. Affected by the investigation, BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. decided to take recall measures to eliminate potential safety hazards.
