Praxair China recently announced that its joint venture, Shanghai Baosteel Praxair Utility Gas Co., Ltd. (Baopu), has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Lincoln Electric China. This partnership aims to enhance welding solutions for customers in East China by leveraging the combined expertise of both companies. Under the agreement, Baopu will supply bottled carbon dioxide and argon to Lincoln Electric's welding training center, application engineering center, and R&D laboratory located in the Baoshan District of Shanghai. In addition, Baopu has donated a full gas supply bus system to support Lincoln Electric’s operations.
The collaboration also allows Praxair to utilize Lincoln Electric China’s facilities for training sessions for sales teams, engineers, and customers. It will serve as a platform for seminars and product demonstrations, showcasing the latest developments in Praxair’s gas products and welding solutions. This initiative not only strengthens customer engagement but also improves technical knowledge and service delivery.
Both companies emphasized that one of the key goals of this partnership is to introduce advanced welding technology solutions to Chinese manufacturers. By combining their strengths in welding techniques and shielding gases, they aim to deliver higher-quality services and tailored solutions to local customers. This collaboration is expected to boost the competitiveness of Chinese industries by providing them with more efficient and innovative welding options.
