Interview with the "Selection of China's Dry Equipment Outstanding Enterprises"

The "China Drying Equipment Outstanding Enterprise Selection" event, co-organized by the Drying Equipment Branch of the China General Machinery Industry Association, the Drying Specialty Group of the Chemical Engineering Committee of the China Chemical Industry Society, and the China Chemical Newspaper Office, officially launched in June 2005. Since its inception, the initiative has gained increasing attention and support from companies within the drying equipment industry and related sectors. Currently, dozens of enterprises have participated in the survey, with many more expressing interest through inquiries. To better understand the background and objectives of the event, a reporter from the China Drying Network conducted an exclusive interview with the leaders of the three organizing bodies. They shared their perspectives on the significance of the selection, the challenges involved, and the future vision for the drying equipment industry in China. The three leaders include Mr. Zhang Yubao, Director of the Selection Committee and Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China General Machinery Industry Association; Mr. Hao Changjiang, Vice Chairman of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association and President of China Chemical News; and Mr. Shi Yongchun, Head of the Professional Team of the Chemical Engineering Committee of the China Chemical Engineering Society. During the interview, the reporter asked about the significance of the event against the backdrop of rapid but fragmented growth in the drying equipment sector. Mr. Zhang emphasized that the selection is not just about giving out awards, but about promoting healthy development through fair evaluation. He highlighted the involvement of authoritative experts and the focus on comprehensive company performance, not just financial output. Mr. Shi explained that the initiative aims to establish a scientific evaluation system, guiding companies to improve their standards and competitiveness. The event serves as a platform for exchange and development, helping enterprises refine their operations and grow stronger. Mr. Hao stressed the importance of credibility and transparency, emphasizing that the media's role is to create awareness and promote industry-wide improvement. When asked about the credibility of the selection, Mr. Zhang mentioned that efforts are being made to ensure fairness, including verifying company submissions and gathering opinions from multiple sources. Mr. Hao added that user voting forms were published through both print and online channels to enhance authenticity. Mr. Shi pointed out that while foreign standards exist, they are not suitable for China’s unique situation. He emphasized the need for a tailored evaluation system that reflects the current state of the domestic industry. Regarding challenges, Mr. Zhang acknowledged difficulties in verifying economic data, with some companies exaggerating or underreporting their figures. He called for stricter verification and broader input to improve the process. At the end of the interview, the leaders expressed hope that the event would continue, serving as a benchmark for the industry. They believe it can foster collaboration, drive innovation, and help companies build sustainable competitive advantages. A “Dry-Work Summit Meeting” is planned for late October to further strengthen communication and credit systems among enterprises. When asked about the long-term future, the leaders expressed a strong desire to continue the initiative, aiming to make it a landmark activity that leads the Chinese drying equipment industry forward.
